Mistake Made by Nigerian Bloggers

Most Bloggers in Nigeria believes that by copying and pasting already existed articles on their blog will make them get found or rank high by search engine but that is a big lie.

What is a Blog?

Blog is an online diary where a blogger pour his/her thought, teaches or write about something he knows and unique and they make money(monetize it) by placing Ads on their blog, eg,, AdSense being the giant, Ad dynamo, Promo etc.

To get found by search engine like Google, Bing, yahoo and drive traffic to your

blog some things first need to be put in place.

1. NICHE – This is the first step in Creating a blog and this is where most Nigerian Bloggers fail, even me. Your blog should be about what you know very much instead of copying/pasting from many website/blog. Write your own article no matter how small but educative it is with time you will be perfect.

2. SUBMIT YOUR BLOG TO DIRECTORIES – This stage is where the real work/stress lies, for search engine to know and index your blog, you have to submit your blog to DO FOLLOW DIRECTORIES so you can rank high in search, Examples of Do follow blogs, Bloglog. Ontoplist, Technorati, Dmoz, Blograma, etc.

3. WRITE YOUR OWN ARTICLE – As we know that thousands of people from Nigeria own a blog and their blog is all about News/Entertainment, for you to get found by search engines and compete among the thousands of blog like yours, then you have to search and write your own story even its mainly from your environment, school etc or switch to something you know and can manage properly.

4. SOCIAL NETWORKS – To a blogger, social network is not only for chatting and communicating with friends but for sharing and driving traffic to his blog. Create a Social network like facebook fan page, Twitter, Googleplus, for your blog will do more good in driving traffic to your blog. When your articles are shared visitor can reach your blog through the links you shared and this will make you to rank high by search engines

5. FOLLOW & LEAVE COMMENT – As a blogger develop the habit of following other blogs and leaving a comment about the topic and inserting a link to your blog (but don’t abuse the privileged) will do your blog much good.
