Teacher Arrested as a Kidnapper in Ebonyi

18 Jul 2014

These kidnappers were recently arrested in Ebonyi state while trying to withdraw a ransom money sent to them by undercover police detectives on behalf of the parents of the children they kidnapped from Ogun state.

The suspects ─ Kingson Sunday and August Johnson ─ were said to have fled the Ijebu Ode area of the state after kidnapping two pupils at Molipa, Ijebu Ode, on July 8.

The prime suspect, Sunday, was said to have abducted Tolulope Kosoko, and Omodolapo Kosoko, who were children of same parents.

It was gathered that the parents of the victims had relied on Sunday, who was a friend to the family, to help them drop and pick up the children after school.

Tolulope (9) and Omodolapo (7) were said to be pupils of Imperial International School, Molipa, Ijebu Ode.
It was learnt that on the fateful day, Sunday failed to return with the children and instead, abducted them and fled to Ebonyi State.

Sunday, who is a teacher, was said to have later contacted the parents of the victims and demanded a ransom of N500,000 before he would release them.

He was said to have sent the account details of the second suspect, Johnson, a teacher residing at Ohaozara in Ebonyi.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the report, added that N150,000 was deposited in the account by the police.

He said, "The suspects were arrested while making efforts to withdraw the money with the help of the police informants placed on surveillance in Ebonyi State.

Evil world…. who else can be trusted again in this part of the world.
